insightful

Sometimes things don't go our way. Sometimes we are faced with minor obstacles, but obstacles nonetheless. Today I was feeling slightly discouraged about a project I was working on, as well as being distractedly concerned about a dear friend of mine. Her son is having surgery this morning. My daughter, who is almost always a breath of fresh air, said to me “it's going to work out, mama” me: “yea, how do you know babe?” her: “I see it in your eyes.”

And my heart melted.

Sometimes kids know exactly what to say and when to say it.

[UPDATE: He is still in the hospital, but today he is all smiles]

  3. They always say you get wiser the older you get, but I think that's all wrong. Kids know so much more because they can see through us.
