Do you eRead?

eReaders vs. The Printed Word

DUN-DUN-DUUUUN!!!

Over the past few years, especially this last year, my little library has grown greatly. I have some amazing beauties in there thanks to this little store.

As I have mentioned before, we are a military family.
(Insert lame Hooah here) So let me break that down for you: We move. Sometimes we have movers; sometimes we do not. Books are heavy. I’m a wimp. Are you trackin' where this is going?  eReaders are a good alternative to the excessive weight of a growing hardcover library.

My current summer read is The Perks of Being a Wallflower via the eReader.  Love.
{So. Much. Love.}
I will be buying the printed version as well. Do you know how many marvelous quotes are in this book? No? Well pick up or download a copy today! Today! Before you see the movie!

  3. Never read this book. Truth be told, I wasnt even aware it was going to be a movie either :/ Who's out of the loop? This girl *points to self*.

As much as I love my e-reader, there's still something classic about being able to turn the pages of a 'real' book. Also, books smell awesome.

  4. Annnnd, I love you even more than before. I recently got a Kindle and I love it but I miss the actual books. The Perks of Being A Wallflower is in my hardcopy collection. If I REALLY love a book, I buy the hard copy. That book is seriously my all-time favorite book and the quotes in there are endless and genius!

    1. Hard copies are the only way to go! Plus, this is the kind of book I want on hand for when the smaller versions of myself are ready. Know what I mean jelly bean.

  6. Perks is pretty much one of my favorite books of all time. I read it about 10 years ago and just finished re-reading it about two weeks ago now. I love it even more than the first time I read it, and had pages highlighted and folded over because of amazing quotes, I forgot I had done that. So good. Hope the movie is great too!

    2. Yes, buy it when you get a chance. I think Target here in Boston had both copies, the old cover and the new movie cover. Not sure that matters though.

    3. Totally matters! I loath movie covers on books.
Our Target didn't have it last time I went, but Barnes and Noble is right there in the same shopping complex. I need to pop in and grab it :)

  7. I read a lot and even if I love the paper version, an ebook is a great buy, saves a lot on book (since they are less expensive) and you can even highlight passage you like with lots of them (I have a Kobo reader and you can do that with the kindle too!)

  8. I recently discovered the benefits of an e-reader. I've got a bad back (had surgery awhile ago at the ripe old age of 28) so I can't carry around a "real" book with me anymore. But I gotta say, despite the convenience and relative weight of the e-reader, I still buy a TON of real books! I guess old habits die hard....

I've looked at this one and keep thinking "I should read that." Definitely on my reading list!

    Thanks for linking up!

  9. I'm with you on e-books. I scoffed for years at the thought and secretly swore to avoid at all costs. It's so convenient though, and I love the instant gratification.
